It had been brought to my attention after I was reading AngryAsianMan blog a couple days ago about a column in AsianWeek written by Kenneth Eng entitled "Why I Hate Blacks". Needless to say, AsianWeek took it down after much controversy, but AAM was able to find a copy of the column and posted it on his blog. The column was based on racist stereotypes and irrelevant facts, and it makes me wonder why AsianWeek even bothered letting Eng even write columns for them. Being an Asian-American myself I find it quite pathetic how delusional Eng's points of view are.
Eng also wrote other columns in the past such as "Proof That White People Inherenty Hate Us" and "Why I Hate Asians". Again, these columns are based on racist stereotypes and no concrete facts whatsoever. So, why did it take AsianWeek this long before they finally decide to cut Eng from it's newspaper? Apparently, this somehow this incident made it to national news yesterday. AsianWeek has issued an apology for ever letting that column see the light of day, but not after it's previous and somewhat pathetic apology relating to the incident. So you can pretty much kiss AW's credibility (if even had any) good-bye.
I also did a Google search on Eng and not only does he claim to be an Asian supremacist, but he's also a science fiction novelist. Too bad no one ever heard of his novels, and I highly doubt he would ever gain any fans for his books after the balantly racist columns he wrote for AsianWeek.
The award for making yourself look like a total idiot in front of the entire nation goes to: Kenneth Eng and the editors of AsianWeek. Good job.
UPDATE: I stumbled across a video clip of Eng being interviewed on FoxNews, and there's also a transcript for all of those that are interested. I honestly find it amusing/pathetic that he somehow manages to incorporate talking about dragons in all of his answers.

nice job yourself. i can't possibly claim to share more than you do with fellow asians, but i suspect that the human spirit is by far what defines us more than any of the evolving social concepts.
