So just recently I've been going to football games. Well, I've only been to two in my entire 4 years of high school. That is partly due to the first two years..my school didn't have a team, and junior year I was at a new school and did not have many friends during the season to attend the games with.
Last night I went to a really huge game for our team. It was televised, it was the other team's homecoming game, and it was a big game that would determine our position in districs or something. Both teams are really good, but we lost. Since there had to have been about 90287590274 people there my friends and I decided to start walking out of the stands early so we would beat traffic leaving.
As we were walking out of the stands people from our own school started booing us saying "YOU'RE QUITTERS AND QUITTERS SUCK!!'
I thought this was SO funny. I also could no believe how much their lives revolve around a football game. I do understand that sports are HUGE in the States but my mentality is life will go on.
Sometimes it feels like my mind is soooo far from being caught up in high school pettiness and drama. I feel there are better things in life to worry about and get worked up about than who leaves a football game 2 minutes early. Especially one that we are losing.
I fully support my school and of course i don't want our team to lose but SERIOUSLY lets GROW UP. I've never experience something that ridiculous in my life.

Why were they booing the spectators? Because the spectators weren't playing the game, you know?
Read my blog!
they were booing us because we started leaving 2 minutes before the game ended. We were losing AND there were thousands of people there. We wanted to beat traffic. They called us quitters because we left early. It was really stupid.
