Losing a friend.

I would like to start our by saying, I do not have many
friends.  Its not that I am shy and
I knows it’s easy to meet new people and have the opportunity to have new
friends.  Aside from that, I find
it very hard for me to eye someone as a friend.  People turn out to be more like acquaintances.

            Well
I used to have a really good friend.
We would compete at almost everything.  We would hang out almost all of the time.  We took the world that was presented to
us, turned it upside down, and made it fun.  We were really great friends up until the summer after 8th
grade.  This was about the time he
moved about 15 miles away.  This
might not seem far to us now but we were only around 13 years old and couldn’t
get the transportation to travel all the time.

            While
He was enjoying his time I was doing the same.  I did make a few new friends in high school.  On the other hand he made a lot of new
friends.  This is not because he
was “cool” or anything.  In my
opinion these are not what I would call friends; in face I would rather call
them druggies.

            Now
over his life since that time he had been in and out of jail.  It always says he will get off the
drugs and alcohol.  I tried to get
him to go to college and he actually enrolled.  One problem though he hardly ever goes to class or does his
homework.

            Over
the years I have tried emotionally support as well as physical support.  I provided him a home once when he was
homeless.  But, now I’m just an
empty cup.  I cannot feel sorry
anymore.  I have lost hope for
him.  This is how I lost my friend.  Now he’s just someone I know, an acquaintance.

I'm sorry, that's really hard. Losing friends hurts almost as badly as a relationship ending.
