MySpace.
Do you have one?
Do you think it is appropriate to have one?
How old should you be?
Do many people judge it not knowing what it really is?
MySpace is the new electronic yearbook, chat, and neighborhood. Sure it is unsafe but not all people know that it can have its benefits. I have heard that many older people find old friends from high school and so forth and they reconnect their friendships. So how can the makers of MySpace prevent sexual offenders and harassers from using the site? Like everything in life the site has it's benefits and harms. MySpace has become the next generation and is the popular networking site of millions of individuals but no it is not right for everyone. Many people disagree with the site knowing all that it is about. Many have no interest or time to engage in the site and others simply do not care.
Many children have accounts and their parents will not allow them to but they do anyway. Parents can go to MySpace.com and click search up at the top where the options are. Many children put their first and last names in not realizing that their parents could easily find them.
I'm not trying to tattle tale or anything on anyone I am just saying the site is very unsafe to younger children and you may want to make sure your child is protected before it is too late.
If you do allow your child to have an account make sure that their profile is private and they are only talking to people they know.

I was one of these close minded people until I realized the great wonders of myspace. I reconnected with several old friends through the site and that is all I use it for. I do see where it could be a bad thing though because a lot of people request you as your friend that you don't know. So the user just has to know to deny the request.
