Do you believe in equality within the ethincities and sexes should exist? What about doing away with "class" levels? should everyone be on equal grounds? should all property be public and not private? should power companies and water companies exist to supply them not to gain profit from them? If you believe in any of these ideals, then you have communist ideas and values. What children, and even their parents, have learned is that communism is horrible and arnt we lucky america isnt communist...... remeber people communism isnt facism. Hilter and Mussolini were facists, not communists. You can have a communist country without running it with totalism the way sudam did. All that america is based on is communism values. Liberty and justice for all. doesnt that sound like equality for everyone? did you ever hear the name "rosenburg" for roosevelt? if yes, then you know that high political powers in america went with hitlers idea of facism, and called him rosenburg to make him sound jewish. Because He did not believe in hitlers ideals. Why did the U.S. turn away so many jewish refugees and send them back to their certain death during WWII?

This thread is so disjointed I'm not even totally sure how to respond to it. I"ve been writing this too many times, so I'll keep it brief.
Communism will always end badly, not becaue of dictator's but because of communism itself. Communism works on the basis that all are equal, but all are NOT equal, and most healthy human beings have a natural desire to better themselves, to improve, to grow, to achieve. The only way, then, to make communism work is to crush the natural tendencies of these people, which are the vast majority of people. The only way to keep people 'equal' is to squash every display of individuality, be it personl, religious, political, even the identification of one to his or her own family, it must all be made subject to the supreme communist state. This is the ONLY way to make it work. that is the whole point, that is the plan of communism, to 'educate' a generation in the communist ideal, which means pound it into people's heads, try to get that nasty individuality out and get that communism in. It will always end with dictatorship, because it is in direct opposition to human nature.
Take this rational, logical argument, add it to the question: if communism can work, why has it failed over and over and over and over again though history? Why has it led to the worst atrocities? It isn't enough to say that 'so and so' is a dictator, why does the communist ideal so often appeal to and allow the rise of a dictator? Because it's an inherent part of it's nature.
And the idea that all property should be public is most definitely not American. American works on the basis of equality, yes, that is the idea that all people have a chance, through hard work and intellegence, to the same piece of the pie, but the piece of the pie still has to go to the one who works the hardest for it, or is smarter, the point is it has to be earned. This isn't selfish, cruel, it's noble, it's the most beautiful idea in the world- the idea that a man must work for what he gets because he alone is the master of his destiny. communism, the idea that everyone gets somethign regardless of how much they work, how little they are willing to educate themselves, whatever, is a disgusting idea. what the hell is the point of living without the opportunity to improve?

Communism is not about "liberty and justice for all." It is about the proletariat, the "people," the working class rising up to power.

It isn't about liberty or justice for anyone but the proletariat.
