Five letters B.L.A.C.K.S. I might as well end this blog here because there is really nothing left to say. We all know Obama has played the race card in this nomination although we may disagree on to what degree and on how (positively ot negatively). Now more than ever it is clear that many blacks are voting for Obama on the basis of his race and if Hillary Clinton would clench the nomination, she needs to reach out to those folks.
In PA last night, at a point, 92% of blacks voted for Obama however Clinton still won. Obama has made statements suggesting white people wouldn't vote for a guy bearing his name even after his Iowan win. When the picture of him wearing a turban surfaced, he blamed the Hillary campaign and called it dirty tactics as if it was done by computer imaging. Generally it's been like a crime to point out anything about Obama that even smells dirt. Of course until Jeremiah Wright came up.
When Wright surfaced he gave his "darn good speech", in basically saying if whites vote for him they would have attoned for all the sins of their fathers, and my favorite part of the speech, mentioning Geraldine Ferraro. His campaign went into the deep parts of an obsure newpaper to find comments made by Geraldine, and since she was a Clinton suppoter they tried to label Clinton racist. A few days later here he is claiming Wrightgate was part of the dirty campaign politics of the past which he isn't a part of. Tell me about it.
It's like the more we get to know about who this guy really is the more we find him to be far from what he paints himself to be. If the Clinton campaign can find something that pitches him against the black community and not allow Hillary to do the dirty job she would win this nomination. I'm fairly certain that she would find something sooner or later but I hope her campaign is smart enough to keep the Ex-President caged and Hillary from talking about it.
Obama has played the politics of race where it helped him and condemned it where it would hurt to play it. If Clinton is smart, she would condemn and let unaffiliated campaigners play that game for her.
