What has happened to the movies?
I just went to see Ghost Rider not that bad of a film but for all the hype it didnt get it for me. Maybe I am just expecting a story when I go to see films but hey...i want to be entertained.
Going to the movies used to transport me into the world of the characters and stuff and keep me spellbound and capitavated now...i am like when is this crap going to be over. I am mad the prices for movies is going up but the quality of the movie isnt.
With movies you either have certain scenarios
1. Action...Great effects but no storyline
2. Comedy...funny...slight storyline except for Napolean Dynamite
3. Drama...not enough of anything except drama
4. Other movies...lack stroylines...horrible dialogue...or just sitting there.
There are exceptions like Pursuit of Happyness and Freedom Writers but movies are going down the drain with my $8.50!
What is going on?

As a future filmmaker, I've got to agree and diagree...I believe there are PLENTY of great movies out there--you just have to know what to watch. However, I think that many of the mainstream (particularly action) movies are becoming increasingly mundane.
I agree that movies today are on a downhill. I have stopped going all together unless its something that looks extremely good because I dont want to waste my money, and most of the movies that I have seen lately are a waste. They lack good storylines, its like the movie industry is just running out of new, good ideas. I'd much rather go to the video store and rent a good, older movie for a dollar than see the crap that theyre producing for $8.50 a ticket!
Movie makers know they don't need quality to get a profit. They just need it to be flashy so people are drawn in. It's like bugs and light bulbs.
I agree! The comedy is not comedy at all. It is stupid actions that have been done over and over again countless times that is not even funny anymore. What happened to stand up comedy? Where it relies on the event and the storyline for it to be funny?
