Honestly... how many? Many of us would answer "no" to this. If no, then why vote for someone tha we do not know what they stand for? Because of their their party affiliation?
I find it a reoccuring theme amongst young adults to vote for someone because of their political party. They have never even seen the name before, but the fact that there is an "R" or "D" by their name is what wins their vote. To me, this does not make sense. I believe it to be very easy to look up a little information on who one is to be voting for. So why do people do this? Probably for the same reason many young adults do not vote in the presidential elections... laziness.
If there is not enough time for someone to look up a little bit on each candidate, then why vote? How does it make sense to vote for someone just for their title? How can someone know what they are getting out of a person, if they do not even know why that person wants to be in office? Would it not make more sense to just leave voting to those that have a true interest in the fate of their country?
I agree that everyone should have a "say" it what is to become of their country, but I also think that those who do not vote, do not have an equal say. I do not really pay attention to the House and Senate much, but I do, however, pay close attention to who is running for President.
With the future of the country in the hands of such a lazy youth, it is no wonder a lot of the older generation is beginning to worry.
