I've lived in three states. Now i'm in another and i've traveled to yet another for Thanksgiving Break. I imagined that here there would be new sites to see. I imagined that the architecture would be old world Colonial and that it would be a new experience for me. In fact, I thought that long ago; even the state I now live in. Part of the reason why I want to travel abroad so much and perhaps one day live and work abroad in different countries from year to year is because there is nothing to see here. In every state, there is a big metropolitan area and a suburban or ex-urban one. Usually, the suburban or non-urban places are filled with long strips of malls and stores. You know, there are the Wall-Marts, the Barns and Nobles, the Home Depots, the Arby's, The McDonald's, Thge KFC's, the car dealerships, etc. What is it that we have that other countries don't? Besides certain freedoms. There isn't much a difference than our military strength which, at times, is questionable. What's so great about America? About being American, living in America? It seems like other countries have so much more to offer.
How is America So Great?

Honestly live out in the country. I see what you’re saying but the only real American place is out in the country. The smell of corn, sound of cattle, wind blowing through the trees, and just pure undisturbed nature makes America great. I love the country.
Granted other countries have this but America’s farmland is an extraordinary thing in itself. We produce the majority of crops for the world right in the farm belt. Unfortunately city folk are slowly taking over all this beautiful land.
But this is why I think America is so great. The best part is that it’s never really far away.
