What is progress you ask? Well, I'll tell you! According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, progress is defined: to develop to a higher, better, or more advanced stage. Progress is everywhere. I am mean look at your computer! Can you imagine not having the internet? Or even not having a computer? I bet that you have a cell phone sitting on your desk next to your computer. Am I right? Did you know that the cell phone wasn't invented until April 1973? That's only 35 years ago! Turn on your T.V. It's my guess that if you just wait a couple minutes there will be a commercial for a cell phone company. It's amazing to think how quickly technology is progressing, but what about people? Haven't people progressed as well? Look back at America's history. We just started as a little colony called Jamestown and now look at a map. We're huge! That's progress. Women didn't have the right to vote and now we have a woman running for president! African Americans used to use different water fountains than whites and now we have white and black marriages! People used to hide the fact that they were gay, but now we have gay's everywhere in society, like N'Sync member Lance Bass. Progress is occuring everday. Everwhere you look there is progress. The question is what can you do to progress?
