You're going to die from cancer. Let's face it, with every label out there reading "potentially causes cancer," "shows signs of causing cancer," and "has been known to cause cancer," pretty much everything you are doing is increasing your chances of cancer. So have you ever wondered what would happen if you missed all these? Why is it that there are all these studies saying "By wearing a tie you cut down 2 years off your life" or "living in suburban areas cuts 3 years off your life."... So why is it that the people who avoid all these don't live forever? I mean, if you add up all the things that can take years off your life, you aren't going to wind up dying at age 5 over them are you? But in essence, if we were to avoid all these, shouldn't we live to be oh....maybe 150 years old? Why can't we live forever? Maybe it's because we are so worried about avoiding cancer that we are missing some totally obvious disease. We must be missing something when Parrots can live 100 years easily, and a good fish can manage almost half a century. Einstein once said that sometimes the simplest answer is the right one...so here's the simplest answer. Human beings, for whatever reason, are focusing in on all these diseases that are supposedly killing us...well what if they aren't? What if bird flu, cancer, aids....what if they all are gods gift to us, an attempt to weed out the wrongdoers and the weak to form a species that lasts double the years of the normal ones. Perhaps we are looking at cancer all wrong, and maybe it's the answer to all our problems after all. Let the smokers inhale their brains out, because god's found a way to get the pollution to stop...get rid of the problem. We are a one in a trillion shot come true, we are a totally intelligent planet with a perfect climate for life...and slowly we are screwing it up to feed our addiction to nicotine or our fetish for the smell of pinesol. People aren't the ones dying of cancer, the world is. Because for every time we try and defy the odds, we are just prolonging something that should have happened thousands of years ago...evolution.
