When I was in science class today we were doing some work on some really old computers. I guess they weren't really that old, probably around 1995 or so but to us students they were old.
So we are sitting there waiting for them to start up and it seems like it was taking forever. Then I realized something. In 1995 these computers were probably the best ones at the time. People would sit and wait patiently while they booted up and didn't complain about how slow they are.
We take technology for granted now. The computer I am typing on right now is over ten times faster than the one in my science class. The entire world is at our fingertips now but we are complaining how long it takes for the page to load instead of appreacating the fact that we don't have to look up the information in the library.
Could we live without high speed internet? Yeah probably. Would we want to? No. We would sit there and complain about how long it takes and call the computer names and be frustrated. So stop complaining about how slow your internet connection is or how slow a page is loading. Just be glad you don't have to look up all that information the old fashioned way....in the library.

You never realize how much it affects your life until it's gone.
We've only had three computers in our household over the years and it makes me laugh when I think about the one we had last because it held less than my mp3 player does now.
We're always craving for the newest things, so we can't even imagine what life would be without them, or how life was before them.
Exactly! I was like "You do realize that people used to say 'WOW! This computer is SOO fast!'" but we are like "Hurry up already!"
