Who would want their identity stolen? I’m sure that no one would since one’s identity makes the person. Every person’s identity is just as valuable as the next, yet for some reason, only certain people fall victims to identity thieves. They are innocent victims of fraud.
If a person works hard for a nice house and acquires a good savings account, it doesn’t mean that they should fall prey to identity theft.
Of course identity thieves probably have their reasons for stealing other people’s money, but they should really think of the people they hurt in the process. They should think of the person who received the shock of their life when they found out that they have a double. They should consider what the person has to go through as days pass with thoughts of what their double could be doing to their good name and credit. They should think about what the person feels like when they find out they are getting summoned to court for a crime they did not commit.
Identity theft and its consequences are unjust since it has an affect on a victim. The rate of this crime should be decreasing. For it to decrease, the government needs to take further action by putting tougher penalties on the true criminals.
This should be taken into consideration since this nation is a democratic one, not a communist one. A person’s wealth, (whether small or huge) should not be in the reach of anyone other than the owner of that wealth.
