Car require alcohol breath test to start

Effort against drunk driving has evolve. Cars are now being equip with alcohol-ignition interlock. This interlock require the driver to blow into a device that is connected with the car which read the blood alcohol content of the driver. If the reading detect a certain level of blood alcohol content, the engine will not start.

Last month, Washington became the fifth state to require offender of drunk driving to require this device. The other four states are Arizona, Illinois, Louisiana, and New Mexico.

The question now is that how will this method be apply. Should it be apply to first time offender to prevent future accident? Should this be apply to repeated offender? There also the consideration of body mass that affect alcohol. Some with high tolerate may not feel the same affect of intoxication as other. However, the alcohol reading may say otherwise and not allow such people of high tolerate to drive. Right now the blood alcohol content that disable the vehicle to start is between .08%-.14%.

My opinion of this technology is that it will save life. It will be the brain for those that don't use their own to judge their ability to drive while intoxicated. What do you all think?

I haven't ever heard of anything like that, but it sounds brilliant! Sometimes people have the most amazing ideas. It would not only save lives, but would also prevent a lot of property damage, time in the judicial system and police force, and worry.
