Immigration in America

Today at 3:30 a bunch of immigrants gathered infront of Classical High School to protest and march against the fact that they do not have the same rights as a American Citizen.  If we went to Mexico, or some of their countries, we would not have the rights of a citizen, so why should they here?

The immigrants maybe paid under the table, boosting our economy, kind of.  However, if the immigrants get what they want, they will try and get jobs that are not paid under the table.

America maybe a country of immigrants, but we worked to get where we are today. None of us expected our citizenship to be handed to us.  That is not fair that the people are asking for it to be handed to them.  If someone wants to become a citzen, take the test, learn the language, and become one the same way everybody else did.

If the government was smart, they would do a mass arrest.  All the illegal immigrants are gathering to march in protest against the fact that they do not have rights today.  The government could just do a mass scoop of the illegals, and send them back to their own country.

Maybe it's just me, but sometimes, the hard way is the only way to go.  Handing people their citizen ship is not fair, and should not happen.  They should have to work for it, and that's only fair.

Yes I agree, the hard way is the only way to go!

You know, the illegal immigrant bill and all of the hype going along with immigrants has two sides to the story.

Lets start with the pro:
1. Illegal immigrants will take up positions at lower wages, thus boosting the economy A LOT, given that they don't take away many of the jobs of american people. The jobs they tend to do deal with "odds and ends" or parts of a job that people don't want to do, such as trash and cleaning.
2. Mexicans do quality work for a lower price. Ever want a deck made, or your lawn and garden done nicely? These guys will do the job quickly and nicely for a price thats a fraction of what Americans would do it in, not to mention that they are punctual.

Now, the cons:
1. Language: One of the major issues I have seen with illegal immigrants that I have "come in contact with" are that they can't speak english. They can only speak spanish, and it takes people like myself who are trilingual to help them out. If they want to be citizens, they should know the language, like everyone else who tries to get citizenship (although I do remember helping my parents with their citizenship application and a lot was written/said (on a cassette) in spanish for people who need it)).
2. Overpopulation: We as a nation already, without the illegal immigrants, are on track to become the most populated country in the world, passing India and China in the near future due to immigration, regular reproduction, and the low rate of mortality. Our cities are already over populated, and the sudden increase in immigration will cause unbelievable resource depletion, over population, deforestation and everythign thats in an environmentalist's nightmare.
3. Racism (in two ways). The legalization of immigrants allows Mexican workers to get citizenships while people from Russia or Canada even can't get citizenship. The process takes long enough already.

Now when it comes to mass arrest, we are talking about the destruction of companies like Tyson, who are mainly illegal immigrants working. Also, what is going to stop them from coming back? Not to mention the fact that business is going to suffer greatly, and in turn we can possibly have a recession, which would wreck W's image even more, and leave our country in a worse condition.

Now, to tell you all the truth, I am a debater, among other things. I judge congressional bills by evidence I find and my initial feelings on the bill, and forum topics on which I feel I can make a case that is stronger. The underlying belief I have though is that "truth can only be found when both sides are looked upon". Thus, I believe that this bill has its benefits, and that the immigrants are right in what they say, but the negatives far outweigh the cons. Immigrants should go through the same processes as everyone else, and they shouldn't want the same rights until they have EARNED them. Its unconstitutional, but they aren't quite part of our nation yet.

There are a lot of things that you say that I agree with, and you probably already know. I agree that people should work for their citizenship. As for W's reputation, I do not believe we can do him any more disservice. Companies like Tyson who depend on this illegal labor are another problem. They caused an original problem by pulling out their companies from people who needed the jobs to move their company to a place where the labor was cheaper. These companies boosted their profits, intern boosting the economy, but at the cost of millions of people who are now considered poor. Have you ever seen 'Roger and Me'? It looks at Flint, Michigan when GM pulled their company out. GM employed almost all of the people in Flint. Now Flint is considered one of the worst places to live. It's a vicious cycle of the rich getting richer, and the poor getting poorer. Companies like the cheap labor, and they will go anywhere to get it. It's a circle that needs to be stopped. Maybe the immigrants are not where we need to stop this cycle, but at the top with the companies. It's a lose/lose situation anyways. And who is to say that once the immigrants are legal citizens they won't start looking for the better jobs.

i want to migrate in USA kindly tell me the procedure for this
