Hello all! I have come to this site with no previous blogging experience (that's right: no LJ, no MySpace, no nothing), so I just wanted to say hello. As background to how I became interested in this site: I actually started reading this a friend's blog here, but, after reading a blog with an atrocious argument and horribly flawed logic (not my friend's, but one she referred me to), I decided I had to join simply to respond to this person's abhorrent writing.

In light of this information, I wish to say that while I hope my blogs intrigue and provoke thought in those who read them, one should be wary that my first few entries may not be up to par with the writing of bloggers who command respect on this website (I hope to attain this level of ability). However, I am happy to be here, and ready to respond to arguments and criticism as best I can. I try to stay as open-minded as possible, a quality I hope comes through in my posts and keeps conversation at an intelligent level (of course, if you write something stupid, I hope you speak sarcasm as a second language). For now, that's all, but I hope to post something more soon that piques everyone's interest!

Welcome to ProU! While using the people who 'command respect' as a good model, it's ok if you don't meet that level of ability at first. Even those of us that have been here a while are still learning, and our first few blogs were awkward, at best. It took me a full semester before I was really taken seriously.

At any rate, if you do see a blogger that you think 'commands respect', please nominate them to be featured. The link's below.

Good to know! And thank you for the support, although I think presently some will not show the same sentiment, but I'm saving my opinions for a good blog. Mostly, I just aspire to make intelligible posts that people will actually want to read. And I'm sure I'll be blogging regularly and will hear more from you soon!

Welcome! I'm pretty new here too, and like you, I have no previous blogging experience. It's a great place though, I hope you enjoy it, and maybe we'll learn something from each other =)
