Do a Good Deed, and you Get a Group of Applause. Commit a Sin and Get Chastised by a Crowd.

People are supposed to abide by the golden rules. No one is supposed to get in trouble by the law. You are supposed to accept people even if they treat you bad. You are supposed to donate your time to charity even if your schedule is booked. You are supposed to go to college, graduate, get your career job, get married, get a house, and then have kids. You are supposed to wait until you get married to have sex. But when you steal cookies from the cookie jar, boy aren’t you going to be on the headline news!

Since I have worked for the bank, there is this motto about customer service. If you treat your customer with kindness, they will go tell their friend or family member. But if the customer feels they received bad customer service, they will mention it to all of their friends and family. Then those people they told will mention it to others also.

But why is does this theory seem to prove its point? - WHEN INNOCENCE CURES THE SOUL- Well first it seems to always start out with a person being nice. Let’s say you have Sally who met Eric. He seems to be a really genuine guy. Takes her out to dinner every Friday, just delivered roses to her job for no reason, gives her money from time to time, and the chemistry between the two is always hot! She tells her best friend and family how good of a guy he is. They seem to be very impressed by him. Everything seems to be good about him. No complaints or worries here.

But don’t speak too soon. Don’t let that “innocence” act fool you. WHEN INNOCENCE STARTS SIPPING FROM THE SIN CUP- Now Eric’s job makes him work late. But he gets extra pay though! Sally doesn’t like that he has to work late. But it is only temporary. Now temporary has turned into permanent and this is bad. Sally barely gets to see Eric, their affection seems to have sizzled away with time, and they are arguing non- stop. Now she hates him. But why doesn’t she leave then?

Well she still loves him too. She just wishes he would not be so angry and grouchy all the time. It pisses her off when he does this. WHEN OTHERS TRY TO SAVE YOU FROM SINNER- So now she wants to vent. She can’t vent with him because he won’t hear her. So she tells her mom. Then her best friend and friends. Then her co- workers. By now, the whole town has heard how bad Eric treats her. What do they all say? Leave him. He is no good then. He has done so many bad things that are not forgivable. Call off the wedding.

Now do you see my point? This happens in our everyday lives. The news will talk about a person starting a donation for neglected kids. This will run for maybe 5 minutes. But if the senator of New York had cheated on his wife in the past, it stays on the news for days. Many celebrities are viewed by entertainment news and paparazzi all the time. When they do something good, it barely makes the paper or entertainment news. When they do something bad, it makes the headlines, entertainment news, and local news. Then we begin to hate them because the made a mistake. Overall many times a lot of us vent off to others about the problems we have with a person. The person we tell will reminisce on the “bad” person’s qualities numerous times. But what neither one of us fails to realize is this person is still a genuine person at heart despite their mishaps. If you are going to down them, talk about the uplifting things they have done too.
