Those two scary words...college essays....are terrifying. Just a while ago, I finally figured out what I am going to write. Some colleges make it easy; they give you a topic. But other colleges sometimes do not require one. I am writing two essays. I know most of you already wrote your essay, but for those of you who don't have a clue where to start....read this.
Has there ever been a time in your life that you were proud of like you made your first straight A report card, made the final goal, was given a meaningful award, or you did a good deed to the community? Write about that. Colleges want to know you as a person, not as a test score or resume. If your life experience was funny...write what happened. Those professors need a good laugh. I am writing about my involvement in a particular part of the community and how my support has brightened their day.
Don't let those essays intimidate you. Just pick your life story and be passionate about it. :)
