Don't Mess with Mother Nature

In the overwhelming evidence that has inundated our planet lately, it is undeniable that we live on an environmentally violent planet.  Man's attempt to tame mother nature have been thwarted repeatedly, and with devastating consequences.  Yet, we continue to move in on what precious few places on this planet that are not already over run with humans, and each time we step into these wilds we reap the horrors of death and the loss of resources.       Again and again Mother Nature has shown that when its a battle between the planet and man, man always looses.  Yet undaunted we fashion more and more complicated tools in an attempt  to out maneuver Nature, and sometimes we succeed in getting a foothold, but at what cost.  For when Mother nature seeks her revenge, her power and affect are profoundly felt.  Tsunamis, hurricanes, tornadoes, lightening, hale, volcanoes, avalanches, mud slides, floods, earthquakes, windstorms, blizzards, ice storms, droughts; these are the weapons of nature, and man is pitiful in his defense of these attacks. In most cases, the best defense man can offer is to flee.      But we too are a part of nature, and intricately threaded into the weave of this planet.  However, we have over stepped our boundaries by over harvesting the bounties of Earth.  We hack at the Earth's face and force it to produce what normally would not grow.  We genetically manipulate plants to fashion more sustenance for a species that is already overfed..  We punch holes in it's skin and rob it of oil that took millions of years for the earth to produce and give it nothing in exchange.  We reshape and mold the earth to our specification for the sake of luxury and entertainment, and give little thought to how long it took the earth to create what was already there. We drain off irreplaceable marsh lands and destroy animal habitats for the sake of condominiums.  If any other animal on this planet did to the earth what man does, we would actively seek it out and destroy it.  And after all this and much more, we weep and moan and wonder why nature strikes out at us.      Man is an unbelievably fragile creature that all to often over reaches.  In an instant anyone of us or thousands of us can be swept from the face of the planet with little effort from nature.  And yet for some reason fate takes a hand and somehow we manage to survive and produce more and more of us.  We are a weed in a garden that has purpose and balance. We are a blight upon a graceful living sphere that for some reason shows us mercy and allows us to thrive.  So in the face of this grace I ask why do we so diligently try to destroy earth with our petty wars, over indulgence of luxuries, our fat bellies, and ridiculous lines drawn in the sands. The earth is a globe of balance.  Fire and ice, mountains and valleys, oceans and deserts are all examples of how well earth has learned to balance.  But man does not understand the necessity for balance, we want more and more of what is not ours, and make claims on things that do not  belongs to us.  We do not own any part of this planet, we are simply tenants that can so easily be evicted for bad behavior.       We need to start respecting this living entity that so lavishly gives us life.  We need to quit stealing from the earth what we need and start creating new ways to supply for ourselves.  For if we continue along our current path, we may wake to World War III with Nature as our enemy.  On that day we will all surely die, and thus will end the reign of man.

Quite a pessimistic blog you got here. All you wrote about it's true, but I tend to consider it a little exaggerated. However, we should all start learning how to live in nature without damagin it, so it would not 'damage' us in return.

Your right, it is a bit exaggerated, but that was to make a point. I will try to be a bit more optimistic in my next review of the planet's destruction. LOL. Hope you have a wonderful day.
