This summer I began volunteering at the local humane society in my town. It is packed. They built a new building for all of the incoming animals a few years ago and are already at maximum capacity. How to solve this? Make sure to get your cat or dog fixed! It is against the law to have an animal that is not fixed without a breeders license. However, this law is not inforced. If this law became inforced, the stray animal population and animal deaths would significantly decrease. So many animals are dying because they will have babies, and the owners do not want them so they let them loose, where they end up dead on the road or in the humane society. I did not realize the severity of this problem until I started volunteering there. It was amazing, I could never imagine that so many animals were, especially since they only took animals from 3 towns.
Saving animals

Where do you live?
P.S. I miss Bob Barker.
I also volunteer at the local animal shelter and get extremely upset at the overwhelming capacity of animals there, especially cats. It is my job to socialize that cats which basically means I just have to take them out of the 3x3 cages and play with them, hold them, and talk to them. So many of the cats go into shock when they are taken out of their small cells and the shake when you pick them up, but as soon as they are in my arms they start purring like buzz saws. I would take them all home if I could, but I already have one cat (even though my apartment doesn't allow pets... they made an exception for me). It is extremely important to have your pet fixed so the animal population doesn't take over! It is so sad to see all the helpless and abandoned animals... it isn't their fault!!!
I wonder what would happen if there are too many dogs or cats in the world. Would they kill them off? Maybe eat them like some Chinese do? I'm afraid of animals, but I can't bare to see them getting killed. I guess these animals can't survive alone in the human world.
