The Spirit of '76 is the Holy Spirit and our true north. Our Founding Fathers were good Christian men led by the Holy Spirit but money the root of all evil was part of it. They wanted to create the land of abundance. They knew ethics would have to rule for it to work. Our Texas Legislators know, "It is all about ethics!"
Our Founding Fathers knew a great deal of God, the Bible, human nature, history and government. On that firm foundation, they made a major LEAP for freedom. Knowing our Christian heritage is key to remaining true to the "Spirit" of our constitution and to our Founding Father's vision of self-government.
Move America out of the dark ages of war by returning to our true north, self-government., leading to abundance, free of tyranny and oppression. We have freedom of religion, all faiths are welcome here, but we have separation of church and state to keep the government out of moral issues. That is how our Founders set things up based on Jesus' teachings. Church, financial and government leaders have problems with addictions to power and money. Addiction is treatable in most cases.
Bill Day, a 73-year-old San Antonio lay chaplain could spend up to a year in jail for breaking a law that he considers immoral. Texas is the only state that hasn't started a needle exchange program. Seven federal reports have found that increasing access to sterile syringes saves lives without increasing drug use yet syringe programs in Texas continue to be blocked.
During the 2007 legislative session Senator Bob Deuell (R-Greenville), a family physician, carried a bill to allow all county public health departments to operate sterile syringe programs. It passed the Senate.
Representative Dianne Delisi (R-Temple), Chairman of the Committee on Public Health, refused to give the bill a hearing before her committee thereby preventing it from being voted on by the House. Is she one of those blithely unconscious of the societal harm their policies cause? Many of today's leaders seem to have minds like concrete; thoroughly mixed up and permanently set.
Representative Ruth Jones McClendon (D-San Antonio) then attached an amendment to a budget bill allowing a pilot syringe exchange program in Bexar County. It became law.
District Attorney Susan Reed immediately announced her intention to thwart the effort. She warned that she could prosecute workers in the program for distributing drug paraphernalia, which she has done.
Ms. Reed and Delisi are obstructing the will of the Legislature and try to con us into believing they "care" while they waste our precious lives and resources - a con used by servants of tyranny, throughout history to make it look like they (the tyrants) have a conscience.
The American College of Physicians landmark report states the organization's official position calling for full legal protection for medical marijuana patients, changing marijuana's federal classification and increased funding for medical marijuana research.
Research on cannabis offers hope of a non-toxic therapy that could treat aggressive forms of cancer without any of the painful side effects of other treatments. It may through new research prove more helpful in control of hyperactivity in children without the bad side effects of current prescribed drugs as well.
'Unfairness' drives former officer to run for Congress" Former drug warrior, Barry Cooper (Libertarian-Big Sandy), who wants to end prohibition of cannabis is running against Republican incumbent John Carter and Democrat Brian Ruiz to represent the 31st Congressional District of Texas, consisting of Williamson, Erath, Hamilton, Coryell, Bell, Milam and Falls counties as well as the southern tip of Robertson County. Barry produces videos advising the public on how to avoid getting arrested for drugs.
Libertarianism or the freedom philosophy is very popular as Americans become increasingly frustrated with the nanny-state. Many of us can relate to the Diary Of A Mad Voter: During many campaign stops an impromptu chant begins, “Ron Paul Revolution! Give us back our Constitution!”
"As a United States Congressman, I take my oath to uphold all of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights very seriously. Unfortunately, too many in Washington DC believe they can pick-and-choose which provisions of the constitution they can uphold. For example, many politicians, judges, and bureaucrats believe they have the power to disregard our right to own guns, even though the second amendment explicitly guarantees the people's right to keep and bear arms." Dr. Paul has signed on to a brief headed by Texas Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison and signed by a majority of Congress asking the Supreme Court to uphold the lower court's decision and take a stand for stricter standards of constitutional review for gun laws.
The sweet milk of human desire or our consuming passions can destroy us or, as we gain more control, make us stronger.
Over a thousand people die each day due to tobacco use! Close to 300 a day die from prescribed pharmaceuticals. Prescription Drugs, Not Illegal Ones, Killed Heath Ledger! The tobacco, alcohol and pharmaceuticals gangs deal drugs that kill many more annually than all illicit drugs. We tolerate their salesmen!
The epidemic of corruption in enforcement is triggered by the drug war, but it spills into all areas of enforcement. Consider a woman calling the police for help, instead being violently strip searched plus charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
Watch the video of the strip search then go ask your favorite candidate of "hope" and "change" just exactly what they are going to do to end this rising nightmare of the authoritarian state.
Leaders responsible for current quagmire will one-day answer to a higher power for their crimes against humanity. It's time to end the terror by changing our intrusive, big-bully policies, both foreign and domestic. The monetary and environmental costs are staggering and the human suffering unconscionable.
Legalizing and regulating drug distribution would immediately cut off the major source of funding for terrorists worldwide. When will we declare our independence from big government's scandalous waste of our precious lives and resources? Our Founders believed the best way to spread the freedom philosophy is by being a shining example.
Downsize big government and save the American dream of self-government free of tyranny and oppression! Restore justice; construct science based drug policies about saving and rehabilitating instead of ruining lives.
Get tough on violent crime! Warriors can get their adrenaline rush increasing public safety; chasing murderers and violent sexual predators. Support for the war on drugs is inconsistent with support for individual freedom, Constitutional or small government and the teachings of Jesus, the Prince of Peace
