Okay, I see that many people do not believe in God, and many of those blog right here on PU. I also know that I enjoy reading a lot of the blogs written by nonbelievers. I had dinner yesterday with a really cool person. We talk politics and we are both Democrat so our conversations are great. I also enjoy talking to this person because she is an educated person. She listens and poses questions from what she hears. I try to do the same thing. I think this is a true characteristic of an educated person. The ability to see from both sides, but still know where you stand. So, she is struggling to believe if God is real. I asked her to continue when I heard those words come out of her mouth.
She said that she's been discussing this with others, and some feel that God and everything that comes along with it is made by "THE MAN" in other words, the government, to keep a closer hold on us. I tell her that I can see how she feels that way, and go into why I believe in God. I am a nature freak. I love to be outdoors and I thank God everyday for my freedom to go for a hike or ride my bike anytime I want. I told her that I look at nature and know that no MAN or "explosion" could create something so beautiful. She of course jumped on the word "beautiful" and asked if I was talking about astethics(spelling?) that made me feel this way or....and that is where I injected oh no, I mean the beauty I feel. Try being 16 miles deep in the woods and not being surrounded by anything unnatural. That is what I'm talking about. The "energy" I feel and the "love" that embraces me. I don't know, I guess some might think I'm an idiot-which is okay- I'm just trying to show a different view of the traditional "christian".
So our dinner went wonderfully and she closed the conversation with, well I've never been that far into the woods, so I can't comment on that. That is awesome, it is great to have friends and not just because you like or do everything the same.
So with that- I am going to include some song lyrics that I feel explains some of the reason why I am firm on my belief that God is real.

Great song and my brother says something similar to surfing waves and i do not understand but he has his feelings and i have mine and you yours which means we can reach three times as many people ...keep up the good work and maybe you can take your friend on a nature hike and she can find a happy place too

I personally don't believe in God or at least not one God. I think there could be some truth to the whole man made theory, I mean it kind of makes sense. Then again everything can be said to be "man made" or created. Yet at the same time you bring a valid point about nature and all that is the earth. I get those same vibes... but I don't just belive in God I also belive in the Godess, the spirits, and mother nature..

Not to mention all of the proof there is to God being real. How do you explain on-the-spot healings when people are being prayed for. How do you explain the fact that when God fills you with his Holy Spirit you can't stand and you fall to the floor. How do you explain the amazing joy that Christians have every day in their life?
God...that's how. There is no other way. Things will make you happy but that can go away fast. Joy, however, is still there through the times where you are upset or sad because God is your God and you are full of joy to know you have such an amazing father that will pull you through anything you're going through.
