Most girls like movies that bring hope to all relationships. I am one of them! Girly movies are just fun to watch. You see heartbreak and love triangles and death and bad or good choices.. they are just entertaining. Plus they are romantic. All girls want to be romanced and if you aren't being romanced why not watch it happen? My favorites are definitely The Notebook and A Walk To Remember. First the plot lines are great. Then there is the fact that the men in the movie are completely HOTT! Cute and happy movies are the best cure for a fight with a boyfriend or just a bad day. Another good movie is Pride and Prejudice. I love it! I like the time period. All the trouble Darcy went through just to be with Elizabeth is soo adorable. awww.... I love chick flicks.
I understand why guys don't because they are sappy but I don't think it would kill them to watch one if their girlfriend wanted to watch it with them. *just a hint for my guy*

watch "Just like heaven" or even "Beauty and the beast", and call it a day.
I love chick flicks!! love them!! One of the best new ones is "Holiday" yeah it came out back in December but if you haven't seen it I would definitely recommend it. Another slightly younger aged one is "She's the Man". I just saw it the other day and LOVED it!! I'm a soccer player so that part of course was pretty cool (as bad as some of the scenes were) but Channing Tatum is of course gorgeous, and it still has all the sappy chick flick stuff.
My favorites would have to be
Sense & Sensibility
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Garden State
Funny Face
There are so many more.
It's so refreshing to have a post that is not controversial.
Most of those aren't chick flicks at all.

They are chick flicks to me. Maybe you see them differently then I do.
Denken. Nicht lesen.
The idea of a chick flick isn't really a matter of opinion, there may be some that walk the line, but chick flicks do have certain attributes that make them such. The key element of course is being a movie featuring romance (and often comedy) focusing around a female lead, and where these elements are the main point of the story.
It's not just a matter of how a movie is seen, it's a matter of content. Otherwise couldn't I just "see" Dumb and Dumber as a drama?

is NOT a 'chick flick'.
I despise chick flicks to the umpteenth exponential power.
-_-
I'm a girl and I hate "chick" flicks, I'd rather watch the blood and gore or suspense, even comedy :)
My top picks would have to be:
Wimbledon
Princess Bride
You've Got Mail
I love chick flicks! They're cute and they make you more optimistic. :)
I didn't really like the recent "Pride and Prejudice" movie.. The book develops the chemistry much much better. In the movie, Darcy's love for Elizabeth seemed kind of out of nowhere.. However, I think the BBC version of the movie is far better. So, try watching it. :) Collin Firth is in it!
to your list P.S. Iove you it's a most watch chick flick if you are into all that..
Well yes i did love pride and prejudice along with the notebook.... god i cried so muc in the notebook, for 1/2 an hour yes am taht nostalgic!
Good thing u got going though keep it up
