I thought I would give everyone a idea of the messed up world that my brian think of as religon. I say im a agnostic-catholic, but i believe in nothing really i just look at all religons and beliefs as a science and something to study. I believe in evolution, I cant really say if I believe their is a higher power. I want to, but I love science and and live and breathe science. So i see everything as a experiment or theory to test out. I see most religons as something false and made up for someone to gain power. If you think about it catholicism was one of the first religons and is probably the most wide-spread and most influential organizations. It is a form of government really, if your catholic you know that you follow the doctorine down to the last word and the popes word. I believe in a way it was just something to scare people into making them follow them. The fear of God can do so much. I really dont know what to believe in im just happy to be alive and when I die i guess i will find out what their really is.. . ..if I will come back as a bug .. . . if I will see buddah . .. . If i will be judged by God. . . if i will sit in purgatory . . . . if i will get virgins.. . . . I have no idea. The only religon i 100% can say i dont believe in is Scientology, if you believe in scientology PLEASE send me a mesg and explain this to me PLEASE PLEASE im begging you because what i have read has been very ummmm stupid to say the least and point blank
Thanks for reading peace and a great day :)

I agree with some of what you said; I love science and how medical knowledge had carried society so much further than the olden days when everything was left to God. I believe in living life to its fullest and making decisions based on your own rational thinking. But I also believe in God, you don't have to be only on one side. Religion gives me hope and strength when I know that there are things beyond my control. You don't have to follow the Bible word for word and follow the Pope's each and every move (quite frankly I think the church was establish more for money and power than truly enlightening people) because in the end it is your life. You don't have to take my comment seriously either because like the Bible it is only an advice meant to be considered. =)
So i see everything as a experiment or theory to test out.
That's an interesting way to see things. An experiment. I kind of like to see things from multiple viewpoints if possible. As for the religion thing, I'm a little confused too. Technically I'm a Catholic, but I prefer the services of a Baptist or Methodist, and I think I can see some really good points in Judaism. I don't want to be tethered down to one beleif system, I'd kinda like to mix and match until I find what I think is my version of the truth.

Thanks ill read your blog. Im still searching and i want to keep my mind open to everything :)thanks for the comment
Cool. Keep that search up and keep that mind open. I'd rather open-minds that don't know everything than stubborn closed-minded people anyday.
oh, and that thing at the bottom of my comment is called a signature. It automatically pops up everytime I comment, so don't think I'm soliciting just you! I try not to be pushy, but I figured I'd advertise my blog anyway and see if I got more visits.

Well, I am not a scientologist but I still have a little something to say. I understand that you are into science but I dont' understand why people think that it's science vs. God. Why can't you have both? I believe that God created the universe and everything in it and he could have used any way he wanted. If he wanted to use evolution then he used evolution. He created the sciences and I believe that the sciences are just further proof that God exists. I also think that the sheer fact that every individual has an innate sense of right and wrong is proof that God exists. Every culture has a different idea of right and wrong but they still have that internal compass. I believe that is a gift from God to help guide us and show us that He is there. When you say that you'll just find out what happens when you die. . .that scares me for you. Do you really want to wait until it's too late to figure out what real truth is? Once you die you can't change your mind. There is no going back. You sound like you're really searching for truth. The Bible says, "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you." If you search for truth then you will find it. My prayer for you is that you take this seriously and don't wait until it's too late. If you want to discuss this further then let me know =] Have a wonderful day!
Thank you for the comment . . . . To be honest i could care less really if i find the truth in the end or not, I used to go to church all the time i have read the bible many times and i still do sometimes when i just need a little something. Im searching for the right thing to believe in, where my heart is really set on something. True that it never really states how God made us and the earth, so God could have made it anyway he saw fit. A lot of the times i find God very Contradicting if God really exists. I know that is a horrible thing to say, but God is supposed to be the ultimate perfect being, and well i dont see his actions to be fit of a perfect being. I do believe something is their something supernatural . . . . something you cant explain or prove with science(yet) something that you have to just believe in. . . . . .Im not afraid to die and sad to say im not afraid of going to hell . . . actually hell sounds like paradise compaired to what purgatory is shown as. . . . . thanks you for you comment though i really appriciate it . . . . Oh the reason I say that im not afraid to go to hell is because if christianity is right im going to hell, even if im forgiven , well that goes for catholics, i dont know about other chritians beliefs really because i dont know exactly what they believe God will forgive them for. . . . . I believe that in order to be forgiven you must first relize you have done wrong and want to be forgiven . . . . and I dont believe im wrong for something and this something give me a "one way ticket" to hell by Gods word . . . ..
I agree with iStudent that science and religion don't have to be mutually exclusive. I think evolution theories are awesome and give us proof of God behind the scenes.
As for your reasoning why your not afraid to go to hell, you said Catholics believe you go to hell even "if " you are forgiven? Can you elaborate? I'm United Methodist, but generally see myself as an ecumenical Christian with no particular leanings. I lose you a bit towards the end...

For me, I've gathered that everyone has been forgiven of their sins. When Jesus died, the old system of earning salvation through sacrifice and payment was over. Now, it is the task of humans to accept this gift of forgiveness. So, in my book, you don't have to recognize that you're wrong to earn forgiveness--this is the idea of God's grace. He forgives without condition. Recognizing the gift after the fact is where the work comes in.
Rock on with your search.

I don't see the science vs. religion war. The only way these two cannot agree is when one bases his or her beliefs off of someone else's teachings instead of creating their own. If a preacher tells you something isn't true but you think otherwise, go with it. It's your mind, use it.
