So my roommate is weird. However, she isn't a creepy, emo, "little green men do exist!" kind of weird. She's the 'too normal to actually be normal' kind of weird. A week ago, I'd have said this kind of weird didn't exist. After all, it is much too rare. Yet, here she is. Living with me. A mere bunk bed away.
She's self contained, but not to the point of extreme neatness. She's friendly, but not to the point of obnoxiousness. She's quiet, but not to the point where you forget she's in the room. She's perfect. Or at least, she's the "perfect roommate". Thus, I have come to this conclusion: I don't like her.
What kind of a queer, alternate universe am I in when my roommate is respectful, quiet, and--dare I say--friendly...ish? She's barely in the room long enough for me to be annoyed with her at all.
Of course, everyone has been commenting that I am the odd roommate by simply thinking she's not normal. They say my slight delusions stem from my absoutely horrible roomates last year. They were crazy. Literally. In the "I just broke your t.v... just thought I'd tell you.." kind of way (true story, by the way).
Anyway, I hope no one minds this utterly pointless post. This one didn't even have the nifty undertones of cupcakes like my first one. I just wanted to loosely address how fickle college roommates can be. There are all those crazy people out there that you can get paired with but then when you get a normal one, it's so surreal. I'm so used to dealing with loquacious, emotionally unstable, idiots that it's hard to wrap my head around someone worth being roommates with. Go figure!
So if anyone has any horrible/amazing roommate stories, please feel free to share. I'm interested in hearing all about it :)

I have never actually college dormed with someone, but our band used to go to a college for band camp, and one year, I got stuck rooming with this one chick that I wanted to kill. Reasons she drove me crazy:
1) She borrowed my clothes all the time without permission. She still has one pair of my shorts that she never gave back.
2) She slept in her underwear only. Not that that would have nothered me, but it was a thong.
3) She borrowed my cell phone to text her boyfriend and later in my outbox, which I guess she didn't realize saved sent messages, were about 20 texts describing what she would do to him when band camp was over. (Very explicitly.)
4) She refused to get out of bed in the morning and as a result, made the entire band late for breakfast three times.
5) She smelled. Literally.
6) She was always telling me about her female problems, and not only the normal ones. Apparently she had some STDs.
7) She played her music constantly and never let me play mine.
8) She thought I was her best buddy and was always all touchy feely with me. Ick.
After that, I made sure to sign up for a roomie WAY in advance.
heylo, i know where you are coming from, only i haven't dormed with the preson that i sort of envied not "not liked", she just was such an awesome individual, and she actually is so that is why i felt like you do, she doesn't know how she is , i mean even i don't know how i come across which is why we can't pick on people about things they can't nhelp, but thanks for sharing, it was not pointless.
"Pride is concerned with who is right. Humility is concerned with what is right."
Haha that is hilarious. I know where your coming from. Those perfect people who don't really seem perfect at first glance...yep they're annoying. I couldn't have a quiet roomie with the family I come from, it would drive me nuts..lol
