This is, what, my 29th new blog? Something like that. I've been through the gauntlet of LiveJournal, Blogspot, Blurty, GreatestJournal, and even that awesome gothfest of DeadJournal. Still, none of THOSE sites have offered money for putting my opinion down.
My wonderful, always right opinion.
Sadly, as it's 2 in the afternoon and I JUST woke up, I don't believe I have anything for today's post. Gimme more time. Until then I'll placate you all with a post from my LJ I wrote whilst high or sacrificing goats to some elder god...or something
---------------------------------------
-And now, as I sit awake again, I wonder where do we go from this point? Not this point in particular, but just a point that doesn't have a meaning or a certain place in time. A point that sneaks up on us without warning, like a killer in an alley, ready to stab, pierce and
rend all that we were comfortable with. We've told those we care about that we care, we've told those we dislike how we feel, and now what is there to do? Do we continue on through life, chugging ahead to goals that we aren't even sure we wanted to set in the first place? Or do we push ourselves into that great unknown sleep, satisfied with the knowledge that we didn't let cosmic destiny control that one, final aspect of our lives? It's a tough thought, and a tough way to move. I wouldn't wish it upon anyone, as too much invested into it can cause one to lose far, far too much sleep. Why do we push ourselves on? For a greater knowledge? Out of curiosity as to what REALLY lies just a few years beyond the bend in time's river? Mayhap it's the fierce, ingrained instinct of human competition. We so badly want to prove that we're the ones to focus on, that we'll kick on to oblivion, fighting and yelling the whole way about how it should have been US to look that way. Feel that way. Been seen and admired and talked to that way. We live for others, wether we think it or not. Who is being more true to himself: the man who cares about nothing but his own well being, or the man who does nothing but give and serve? There's no right or wrong answer, both men are right and both are wrong. One struggles to keep himself apart, the other struggles to keep himself as part of the socieital whole. At the omega, both toils will seem fruitless as the men realize with an almost painful clarity that they missed the chance to truly BE.
Tell someone how you truly feel, make that person know that you are, if even for a brief moment, a part of their life. It adds to the tapestry of human existence, small threads that weave into a larger patch for posterity. Future generations will look back and realize that they are where they are and who they are because of what we do now. Without it, the greater consciousness of humankind itself will fade into something primeval and feral. A wild animal we lost control of too long ago to tame now.
