I am hearing more and more stories where families were booted off planes by one airline or another.
Infant and her mother were booted off a plane last year because the infant was fussy.
Recently there was a kid who parent had an autistic son on a plane and they were booted off for being unruley but only after the Flight attendant had actually scolded the ch ild.
Just today CNN reported and other sites that Southwest Airlines left them stranded. The kids were a bit unrulely but this was up and well into the flight. No one told them nothing and they were met at the gate and told they were not allowed to make the connecting fight to Seattle.
Sometimes I think the AIRLINES are being unreasonable. Some claim in some of the interviewes that kids should have b een medicated to keep quiet during the flight.
"Southwest Airlines spokeswoman Christi Day told KIRO-7:
"They were being disruptive and unruly on the plane, and for the safety of our customers and the flight crew, we decided to not allow them to travel on to Seattle at that time. Typically if it's a threatening behavior, it's not safe to travel 30,000 feet in the air in a contained environment."
The family said police officers bought them food and Motel 6 donated a hotel room for the night.
The children’s grandmother said she had to pay $2,000 to book last-minute tickets on Alaska Airlines. They said they didn’t have any problems on that three-hour flight.
The family said they want Southwest Airlines to compensate them and give a public apology. " according to the article the kids only acted up twice. Sheesh.... I dont think its right the family had to buy another ticket costing 2k on alaska airlines to get to their destination. That to me and the fact they had to spend the money for the tickets. People had to donate food and a motel room for the night.
I consider that wrong.
They would never do this on that show AIRLINE. They offered things and that was wrong. This should not be allowed. NO airline should strand you without comepnsation.
A side note...the other flight the kids behaved well.
The family was left with no money, no food, no lodging.
