Party Affiliation has Doesn't Count here

The store I work in gives the customer one-paper receipt for the things purchased and the option for the second paper, credit card receipt for their personal records. One day I asked a man if he wanted me to print the second receipt (which is absolutely unnecessary) for him. He asked me why he needed it and then asked me why I asked him. I politely told him that I was trying to save paper. He then laughed right there at me and said “oh, I’m Republican, I don’t care about that.” Wow, just because you’re Republican, doesn’t mean you have to be ignorant. I grew up in Texas for 18 years and now live in Orange County. I understand parties and share similar belief systems with both. When did saving the earth become a completely single party thing to do?
Robert Redford once said that “it doesn’t matter if you’re a Democrat, Republican or Independent, as the environment and things like global warming know no political affiliation, but it’s true that they often become the political football and are treated as political sport,” which is regrettably true! Basically, I do not care and it does not matter what party affiliation anyone has, just RECYCLE and we can save the planet. The planet actually matters.

An excellent question. I'm about to write a piece on this. I'll try to do some research and prove the point that recycling can and should be a family value (and conservative in that nature). It's not some hippie plot!
