Finally, gay marriage is legal in California. I'm probably gonan end up saying the same thing as everyone else who approves of gay marriage, but , to me, this is an important issue and I feel like writing a blog about it. Around sixth or seventh grade is when I started hearing about gay mariage and since I went to a Catholic school I would mostly hear "G-od made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve". I would just roll my eyes. Besides the whole Adam and Eve thing, I also heard that g-d had a plan for everyone, so I thought " Well if G-d has a plan for everyone then didn't he plan this, and if G-d granted everyone free will he is allowing this to happen"
I just don't undertsand why is wasn't made legal a long time ago. Granted, one major difference I see is the way gay marriages have sex, but I don't think it's THAT major of an issue as it can be worked around. Supposedly marriage is a sacred sacrament bettwen man and woman, but if it's so sacrred then why do over 50% of marriages end up in divorce and why are there such things as pre-nups? it's obviosuly not THAT special. Love is love. I'm pretty sure straight couples would be completly devasted if we ever got a president who made staright marriage illegal.
We already push our beliefs onto those who don't want it. On our currency we have " In God We Trust". That should be enough. America is a melting pot of different beliefs and different cultures so why focus on one that isn't necessarily the best for the entire nation?
