If you are ever looking into car insurance companies, be sure not to choose MetLife auto insurance.
My mom just had to get a new car since hers died Friday night and the price of fixing the car would cost more than the car is actually worse. So she went down to DMW to register the new car and they told her to surrender her license plates because she hasn't has insurance since February! But all this time she's been paying MetLife.
When she called them, they promised that they cleared everything up with the DMV. But this has been going on for months and DMV still has not received any paperwork saying my mom actually paid her insurance. DMV says even after they get a letter from MetLife, she won't be able to drive for 10 days.
My mom is a single mom. She needs to work in order to pay the bills. She can't afford to not be allowed to drive for 10 days. MetLife has just continued lying about everything. My mom will be writing letters, and contacting news programs to expose MetLife and what a horrendous company it actually is.
So if you need car insurance, take my advice and DO NO go to MetLife.

I have heard this befiore probably about every company out there Been in the insurance business for over 25 years Dont blame the company Blame the agent for not doing their job!! MetLife has been in the industry for 135 years The last 34 in P & C We have ranked in the top 5 for claims paid & customer service for the last 2 years We are the largest Group Insurer. we did not come this far for this long by doing the wrong thing. Once again Blame The AGENT for not doing thier Job! Thanks
