Eid-Ul-Fitr
Eid is a celebration festivity celebrating the end of the holy month of Ramadan. During this day, families gather up, dress into their new clothes and accessories, and then head to the Eid prayer. The Eid prayer usually is prayed in a mosque, or in a civic center for a larger majority. After the prayer, a short sermon is given and then party time! Occasionlly, people tend to hang around after the prayer. In the women's section, showing off the dresses and jewelry takes action. The dresses are the extremely glamorous ever created and all the women look like angels sent from above. The younger kids are gifted toys and balloons to keep them distracted. The men usually are on their foot to get out as soon as possible to avoid traffic on the way back. Soon after, people leave the mosque, or the civic plaza and go out with friends and family for lunch, most head home and have luscious home cooked dishes. Until night fall, friends and families continue visiting each other's homes. Also gifts are exchanged, but most often money is gifted to the younger generations.Eid is a holiday, which is most awaited by Muslims. However, there are two kinds of Eids. There is Eid-Ul-Fitr, which was just recent celebrated at the end of Ramadan and the other is Eid-Ul-Adha, which is celebrated after the Hajj.
I wish everyone a blessed Eid!
