Things affecting the youth today

Wow! I could believe my eyes this past Novemeber 2007, when I turned on the television and saw an African American man running for office Barrack Obama. I was shocked and at the same time exicited. I said to myself wow, it has taken ages for this day to come and yes its finially here. To my surprise I see plenty of youth becoming interested and getting involved. Many of them are for him and stand for what he believes in.(That Change is going to come) I can tell you myself that I have been following up on every speech, interview, you name it dealing with this year election. Due to that race and sex seems to be an issue in our society today, this years election will be history. Between an African American male along with an cacasian woman running for office. In the the speechs broadcasting on television i see lots of youth sitting in the crowds. I not only see cacasian supporters, but i also see african Americans. Previous years African Americans didnt really get involved with politics. But right there, is an example of change. At school everyday atleast from a kid or two you hear them speaking among themselves,"Did you watch the data show last night, oy hillary is fight dirty". Or comments like I cant wait until Novemeber 2008 when i can finially vote, Hillary is my canidate, Im going all the way for Obama. In some of the hallways our school has posters of Hillary and Obama up. Sometime during class we have class discussions dealing with the people running for office.Im praying and hoping that this will not be the only time that the youth gets involved with politics.
