Plastic Surgery/Plastic People

I have yet to understand plastic surgery and the rapidly increasing population having it done.  I'm comfortable in my own skin.  No, I've never daydreamed of having bigger this or smaller that.  Not even once.  Honest.  Would I need it to fit in with the Hiltons and Simpsons of the world?  Yes!  Do I want to fit in?  No.  I think all people are perfect and beautiful as they are.  Our uniqueness makes us attractive.  I embrace all the qualities that make me different!  The joys of long toes (I don't even have to bend down to pick lots of things up)!  Why must we have an assembly line of Barbie look-a-likes?  When does it stop - when we can't tell people apart anymore?  Yes, of course I understand having plastic surgery if there is a deformation that could ultimate prohibit someone from living a happy life.  That is up to the individual and it's personal and that is their choice.  I'm talking about shallow, size zero, pointed nose, swollen lips, butt-lifting, inflated chest plastic surgery (pc-cosmetic surgery, I supppose).  Why is our society so fixated on perfection?

Because tv made them that way. I'm sorry to say, but I view these people are moronic. Wasting so much money, adding bags of water and call them breasts. Fake!!!Fake, and more fake. They should use the money to go to school and learn more

Touché`! A little funny though - an education lasts a lifetime, but plastic lasts indefinitely. :)

If you've ever seen Deal or No Deal I want to point out that every single one of those girls, regardless of race, looks exactly alike. It's ridiculous that in order to be beautiful in today's society you must look exactly like everyone else.

I have seen it. The very first time I saw it, my boyfriend and I were joking about them looking cookie cutter. They look SO uninteresting. It really is sad. Imagine - "Hi, I'm a Deal or No Deal girl! Yes, I open the little thingie when they call my number to see if they win or not. It really is very difficult to stand still and hold a smile that long, but I manage."

I agree. People want to be like some of these stars but if everyoen looked the same i doubt they'd want to look like that.

most poeple who have cosmetic surgery want to look like themselves 10 years ago, another proportion want to correct a big nose a huge boob.... so all plastic surgery is not about making oneself look like someone else

Plastic or cosmetic surgery is not always made to be someone else... intead you may need it after an accident or something like that...
