I have to ask what has happened to this website? I haven't been on for quite awhile and during my hiatus from the website it seems to have taken a turn for the worst.
Before I stopped getting on so much people were talking about sensible things like politics, economics, stem cell, the environment, and so many more meaningful topics. I realize this website is free for anyone to get on and talk about whatever they want but it seems as if Progressive U is no longer progressive.
Some of the things people on here are talking about is depressing. It also doesn't help that the scholarship is coming to an end which means most people are no longer going to visit this site to give their opinions anymore since money is no longer involved. Progressive U is not a journaling website for people to tell us about their day and how wonderful or how sad it was. I may be speaking for myself here but no one really cares about someones day to day activities.
In my opinion Progressive U has lost its luster and is no longer the website it once was. I will be waiting for Progressive U to regain is reputation of being a progressive website but in the mean time I will have to search through the depressing blogsĀ and life journaling for meaningful blogs that have something worthwhile to say.

You are not speaking for yourself, you've got my vote.

I am the people my mother warned me about.
I would have to whole heartedly agree with that. Are they trying to take the place of those moronic soap operas that are being phased out of our everyday lives through the idiot box, and replacing it with simplistic "I washed my hair with Prell today" garbage.
The quality of posts has went down recently. But, it's a busy time of year for most bloggers. Between finals, graduations, vacations, summer jobs and everything else that this time of year brings, it's to be expected that things aren't as busy or as progressive around here as they are at other times. Things will pick back up and get back to normal soon.

In my opinion the best ways to make it easier to find and attract interesting content on the site are the following:
+ When you find someone that writes things that interest you, add him/her to your buddy list. This way you can see when s/he adds new posts.
+ Similarly, comment on the posts that interest you, and rate those posts highly (perhaps even if you don't agree with the opinions expressed).
+ If you happen to read posts that you think are a waste of time, give them a low rating. People will get the message if they have enough low ratings.
+ If you know other people who are interested in similar topics, invite them to join and blog.
You're probably already doing most of these things, but if you have ideas on how to make it even easier to find and attract good content, or make it more obvious to others, let us know. You could also become a member of the Alumni Team, which would allow you to help make the site even better.
