100 Dollar Nike’s. . .
80 Dollar Jeans. . .
50 Dollar Belt Buckle. . .
What does all this mean? Spending all your savings on a meaningless outfit that you won’t wear in 6 months . . . buying 10 pairs of shoes at once just for your foot to grow another inch. It seems as though today’s society is hung up on material possessions. As soon as a group of people create some new style many are quick to jump on the bandwagon no matter what the cost just to be fashionable.
What is the definition of fashionable? “Conforming to the current style; stylish” (www.dicitionary.com)
Our society says everybody is special . . . No one on the planet is the same . . . So why don’t we exercise this? When a new fashion comes to town it normally last 1-3 years . . . Yes the same old stuff for three years.
What am I saying? Create your own style. BE YOU! The last pair of shoes I bought was 40 bucks. I thought they were different and unique so I bought them. Matching my shoes with an older outfit people actually commented on it. There is a world of opportunity for creative body ware. Express yourself by the way you feel. Let the world know you who you are!

Yeah! I totally agree.
There is so much creativity and opportunity in developing your own personal style--not just trying to conform to what's "in" at the time.
"Our society says everybody is special . . . No one on the planet is the same . . . So why don’t we exercise this?" I'm not sure that I agree with this. Sure, there is some of this message around in our society. But more overwhelmingly are the messages saying "conform," "be the same," "be perfect." Unfortunately, these conformist messages haven't just been style issues historically; they've been race issues, and the basis of so many other kinds of discrimination.
There's a lot of stuff that I don't even like about modern style. Skin-tight jeans aren't comfortable and I'm not about to spend tons of money getting my hair highlighted and whatnot. I love going to all of the vintage and second hand stores in the city. You can get so many cool things for way cheap.
Cool post! :)

I like this post. Yeah, I agree people should have their own idividaul styles and it shouldn't be all about the latest fashion, but sadly so many people feel the need to buy $100 shoes that they probably won't wear 6 months later.
bravo.
some of my peers need to know this. they are so hung up on their frivolous purchases that they forget their own value. it's not about how much your shoes are worth. it's about how much you're worth as a person, & one's self-worth has no price tag but yet people think that if they spend $100 on shoes, they are so much better.
