All through high school I was pushed to go for a bachelor’s degree. Don’t ask me why but they always pushed me. Many of my class mates are attending a four year program but I chose a two year program.
The reason I chose a two year program is because of my interest and the money. Two year programs cost less and in my opinion give the better degree. With technology changing as quick as it is by the time you finish a 4 year program chances are you will have to relearn the updated technology. The sooner you are done with college the better off you will be with this problem.
Some associates degrees will actually pay more then a bachelor's degree. It is all about supply and demand. In
Indiana alone there are 10 jobs for every one drafter. That makes the demand for you higher so you will get paid more. There are some bachelor fields that the demand is much lower. Teaching is one of them. There are so many people in that field and or going to be in that field that there is no real demand for it.
I also noticed that if it wouldn’t be because of the associate’s degree that our life would not be the same. Car mechanics affect everyone’s life. There are also drafters, engineers, CNC programmers, and machinist that make parts for every day living. The keyboard you are typing on, the computer monitor you’re looking at, the mouse you’re clicking, and the phone that is ringing is possible because of people in those fields have associates degree. And to clarify that statement, what I mean by they make it possible is that they actually make the parts: plastic moldings, wiring, networking, ect.
Now I understand there are bachelor’s degrees and even doctorates that make life a lot easy. But if it wasn’t from the people with associate’s degree the tools that they will use would not be possible.
I am not trying to persuade anyone to change their college plans, it is more or less I want them to make sure they go to college to do something they enjoy. I like hands on things that is why I chose an associates degree.

Price.
You already know that though. The reason I am going for associates is because of price. -and btw-I've pretty much given up on Purdue. It throws all my plans off when it comes to marriage and kids, and my associates will do just fine :)
Wow, rednecks are smart (sarcasm) I am from WV and hear lame jokes about dumb hillbillies all the time- it sounds like you have it together!

What did ya mean by that first part? "Wow, rednecks are smart (sarcasm)"
Just thought I would ask instead of jumping to conclusions.
