Uniforms at public schools

Althought uniforms would help students figure out what the heck to wear in the morning, it doesn't make any sense. Why bother? First, unless my school got grants for uniforms, only about a third of my school would be able to afford them. Second, it wouldn't cut down on bullying. So, we dress alike- WHOP-DI-DO! I think this is the only reason that schools have uniforms. That and probabley to have a stricter dress code. WAKE UP! Girls will buy skirts shorter! Some will find ways to break the dress code with uniforms! NOT THAT HARD! Plus, they look tacky! I'm not one for being in style and stuff, but uniforms are ridiculous! If for some reason my school decided to go to uniforms, I'd go to a different school.

I don't like uniforms my self, I feel that getting dressed and wearing clothes is a art. you are right about bullying people would still talk about you even if you did look right ( haters) I guess some schools feel they have to do that so that would keep some type of order or somethin

I go to a school that wears uniform and just because you have a uniform doesn't mean you have to wear it right. Many kids in my school style their uniform and it also keeps order in the school.Even though we still have fights and girls wear tight clothes and boys come with their pants down it still isn't bad to wear uniform and there are nobody wanting your clothes because we all are wearing the same thing.

Clothes can be extremely distracting. I once saw a girl at my highschool wearing a shirt that exposed her belly and her cleavage.

Tell me, what teenage guy isn't going to be distracted by that? What teenage GIRL for that matter isn't going to be distracted?

I've never had to wear uniforms but I wouldn't mind. You can still be an individual and have "rules" for how you dress.

Yes, clothing is self-expression, but it's distracting in a school setting. People at most businesses and workplaces aren't allowed to dress like hoochies or wear chains hanging down to the floor. Why should you be allowed to at school, where at a public school it is a privelege that they are offering you, a FREE EDUCATION?

If they're willing to teach me and I don't have to pay anything, I'll follow stupid rules about dress-code. Hell, I'm paying $32,000 a year for my education now, and I still feel like they have the right to enforce a sort of dress code.
