SO let's talk about music. Music is what has always defined us. The 1920's had the big band music. The 1950's had swing, the blues and the makings of rock and roll. Of course the 1960's (the era of American History that I am most proud of as an American) had rock, the blues, R&B, and soul. You can say that in the 1960's the music lead the revolution. It inspired the people to get behind their causes and stay behind their causes no matter what. It inspired the sexual revolutions, kept the civil rights movement moving, told the youth of America that the world had in fact gone insane, that they could in fact fix it. So what do we have to inspire us?
Well we have ummmmm er, still thinking, digging deep. Pretty much nothing. Not in the main stream any way. I know that their are thousands of indy movements out there on indy labels reaching hundreds of thousands of people, but it is not enough. It is not enough when you have bands like Nicklebakc singing about how grate it is to be a rock star, and Brittney spears singing about sluting it out. It's not enough that Kanye West says one time that some thing is wrong and the proceeds to rap about every thing else.
So maybe America's apathy has something to do with sound. If you define this last decade in sound what would you have? I'll tell you. You have a whole lot of nothing. No power to the people. No banding together when things go wrong, no believing in any thing never mind standing behind it. We just have nothing. Maybe it's time for a new song.

And that's why I listen to classic rock. It's so meaningful, and it's really good music. In my opinion, of course. If you think different, good for you, but don't try to change my mind, and I'll leave yours alone as well.
I like all kinds of music, and classic rock is one of my favorites.
Same here. I listen to classic rock the most because other genres tend to be rather annoying at times.
