Don't just talk about it

Everyone always talks about our country: What's great about it, what's wrong with it, how to fix it.

As cliché as it sounds, the only way to truly have your voice heard is to vote and with primaries starting in January, time is running out.

President Bush at this point is a lame duck (only figuratively?), but still has power over things. The coming elections give the power to the people once again to fix his mess. I wonder if I, as a voter, should trust all of you party-line voters...

Partisanship aside, the 2008 election is one of the biggest in a couple of decades, for many reasons.

First and foremost is the debacle in Iraq. I, personally, am against the war and wish to see our troops home soon. I know others have their opinions about it, but this isn't the blog for it.

Secondly, are the candidates. America has a real chance at having either a minority or a female for president. As far as this country goes, that's historic. And to think, you have a say in that.

Besides those reasons are the issues of taxes, abortion, and immigration, mainstays in American politics.

My point is this: Get out and vote.

You have the right to your opinion, but who will care what you have to say if you don't vote?

I really hate how people are always complain about the government and the way things are ran and then they turn around and don't vote in the elections because they say that it won't make a difference. Well yeah, when half of America doesn't vote because they don't feel it matter, thats a big difference. I will be 18 in a couple of months, so I am extremely eager to get my votes heard.
