I have noticed in the media, and online that we have overstepped opinion and voice to levels of obscene nature. We have the right to voice our concerns. We have the right to voice opinion and we have the right to argue. This however, does not mean we have the right to vomit all over the English language. That might seem strange to you but what I mean is that we have become to enthralled in cutting each other down in what seems to be a mess of horrid statements and ill-consequential facts. People have their beliefs and ideas and they have their own right to do so. It does not mean we need to beat each other over the head for opinions that are formed from personal experiences singular to the one voicing them. The knee beating was fun for a time but now the rhetoric alone has gotten terrible, let us discuss but not abuse each other for our thoughts.
On the news this kind of mockery of discussion is seen all the time, the talking heads of politics and civic problems go at it like gladiators drunk on blood. We can avoid this if we do not pay it credence.
Over stepping our Rights

I agree, if you're gonna disagree on something, disagree, if you have to debate it, debate it, just don't degrade a person. You can debate without all the hoopla that's been around as of late.
I'm glad someone else agrees, I have brought this sort of thing up before with people and gotten strange looks
It's possible, that just by everything that's said in today's society that people just think that that's the status quo. It's not of course, since you can make a point in a civil manner, but people just don't always realize that.
sadly you are right people do not realize this
man, couldn't have worded it better! this is all nonsense--we can never move forward to make positive changes and can never be a solid nation if we're all picking on each other. pretty immature of us, eh?
One thing I think we can do, is that if we start acting properly now, slowly others will follow and so on, it isn't much but it is a start
yah... a coalition of etiquette and respect! hehe! go us! woohoo!
