Paper Writing Blues

Who would have thought that I would be sitting here with absolutely nothing profound to say. Well, since none of you really know me, I guess it really isn't all that far-fetched.

I have a few papers to write, but I am completely stuck. I just don't know where to begin. It's funny how once I actually start writing, I can usually keep going and going and going. The most difficult part of writing is usually the starting point. This time is different.

I am working on a paper that is actually a part 2 of three. The first paper served as the introduction, so one would assume that the most difficult task is already complete - the topic. While it's true that I have already completed the research, I just can't seem to find the right words for the paper. I can't even figure out how I want the paper structured.

The truth is, I am not sure I chose a very good topic. I wanted to make sure I picked something that no one else in the class would even think about, which I did, but I am not sure I can find enough to write about in two more papers. Sometimes, regardless of the choice you make, you're just going to be stuck. Life sure is funny that way.

Try writing down everything you know about the topic. I usually find it pretty easy to form a rough outline when I do that.

Yeah . I agree .. i ususally find it easier to write a paper when i brainstorm ideas and thoughts. Make a list of everything you know about the topic or everything about the topic that you think you want to talk about. Then organize it by deciding what u want to start with first and go on from there.

Anyway, Good Luck with the paper(s)!!

I had that same problem with a paper I wrote about Obama in English. I can normally find a good introduction and closing but the parts in between seem hard. Try to look up the subject online or ask someone about the topic and they may know how to help you because they may have ideas you didn't think about.
