Though not that progressive i found this to be a fun little pastime and thought others could share their insight just for my own enjoyment.
Now i was watching the movie Dawn Of The Dead yesterday and it remended me of a book i had read a couple of years ago called The Zombie Survival Guide. I don't know if anyone has read it but it pretty much told the reader what to expect if the world was over run with the walking dead.
Now after reading this book it got me thinking "What would i personally do if the world was under Zombie Siege and i decided WalMart. the supercenter not Neiborhood. i would go to walmart because, think about it, they have guns ammunition, food, tools, and other items that they could use. Well i live in Florida so it wouldn't snow over here (Zombie's freeze because they have no way of warming thier blood though freezing dosen't kill them it only incases them till the snow thaws.) Since Florida dosen't freeze i would stalk up on every supply i could get and take a gang of people up the country to Canada.
Canada is perfect becasue you have the entire winter to get ready to attack the Zombie's when they thaw. Also it has enough of a coast to actually get into a boat and head for the ocean. Now Max Brooks wrote the Zombie guide and his rules are that
1. Zombies can only be killed with a trauma to the brain.
2. They have no special powers and can not regenerate muscle back this means that a Zombie will use all the force it has but when the muscle is used up it cannot charge back up it is just done.
3. Zombies are without intelligence so they can not run or do other things that involve more thought than walking and biting.
4. Zombies sheer power is in numbers when one sees or smells prey it moans summoning (on accident really) other Zombies. They have to moan it is an instinct.
5. Once bitten thier is no coming back your going to be a Zombie for life
So tell me what would you do when Zombies attack? where would you go and what would you use
by the way my two main items would be a M8 garand the gun because it is a single shot yet has a clip so you don't have to reload as often.
I would also use a Fireman crow bar you know the one with the spike because it has so many uses smashing bashing stabbing and such
P.S i know how stupid this is but it is kind of fun.
I think I would probably just go into hiding - I am a complete wus.
The funny thing with humans is that you never can tell, lol.
Were one might think of him/herself to respond in one way, the opposite might easily occur to manifest itself.
It is a rare aspect of humans which only arises when reality hits the fan.
I believe a barrett 50 caliber sniper rifle would be a nice item to have around, together with a 9mm handgun and a (light) sword, preferably a samurai sword.

I can completely agree with your statement made about humans doing completely odd things in a moment of sheer terror. That's why i love this game. People can react in so many ways. Hide, fight, survive, it makes for a good conversation.
About your weapon choices
The 50.cal sniper rifle is a hell of a weapon. It's big but on a roof would do really well. I imagine that you would be stationary and probably try to set up a camp of some sort.
But where would you find them? I'm not sure where you live but in my town it would be hard as hell to get one.
The Samurai Sword you know i hear that alot but i would have to go with something a little heavier and more useful in non-zombie situation.
The Fireman's crow bar has so many other uses (by the way i have no idea what the actual name of the instrument was but it was cool looking). Maybe even an actual good Crowbar would work you just have to have enough force to knock through skull
The 9mm is a good weapon and i forgot to add it to my list.
You know a shotgun wouldn't be bad but not a short barrel (to much spray) and the explosiveness of it would make sure to get the job done 9even if you don't kill it on the first try you at least disabled it at first

I'm aware that zombies are fake and this may be a rather ridiculous debate, but its an interesting thing to think about. I mean, they're dead, so they shouldn't be able to regenerate muscle cells.
