Oops, but I shouldn't be telling you to post things elsewhere even though it is my job on the site to give you friendly advice and tips.

I am not sorry for what I said. You are in a scholarship contest, one that requires you to post progressive blogs. I'm trying to help you by telling you posts like this, posts that whine about some friend who slept with this other friend and then called me and then the drama blah blah blah...... will not count towards the contest.

This comment would probably be better as a private message, too, but since you don't seem to care about holding anything back, neither will I.

Well YES I understand that the name of this website is indeed PROGRESSIVEu. But I am not the only person on here that writes about the stuff I do.

If everyone was jumping off bridges and you decided to jump off a bridge and someone called you an idiot for it, they wouldn't think you were less of an idiot if you said "I'm not the only one who jumps off bridges."

I have always been better at writing my feelings out than actually saying them verbally. It helps me relieve ummm stress I guess. I do not really know the correct word I should use, but my blogs are posted on here because this website is all about blogs so hello people actually read them.

Still not justification for posting on ProgressiveU. www.blogspot.com is a blogging community very much like ProU where posts get promoted to the main page, you can click "recent posts" and see new ones, and GASP people read them! And there, people care about rants about friends and significant others.

I must get my feelings out somewhere and why not on a website where no one really knows who I am, what I look like, where I am from, etc.

No one knows who you are on Livejournal, blogspot, mydeardiary, or most other blogs that are made for you to "get your feelings out."

So instead of straight up telling me my blog sucks why don't you go read one of my other ones such as the ones about dealing with birth defects.

I never said your blog sucks. Assuming that says more about yourself than I could. I simply said that your post was just drama and probably didn't belong on ProU and wouldn't be well received. It also will not count towards the scholarship contest.

But if you wish to waste more blog space by complaining about what I said to you, by all means, post away. Advice for the future? Private message... I probably wouldn't have been as straight forward and blunt (and "mean sounding") as I was in this comment. Livejournal... people will sympathize and not vote "1 star" on your blogs.

By the way, in case anyone is wondering, the comment I made on her blog about some myspace drama was "Just sounds like a bunch of drama to me..." and a response to her saying she hated drama was "what I meant was that you should probably post it ... like... somewhere else. Like Livejournal. Or MySpace."

Because it's just drama.

Now, I am done with this conversation and I stand by what I said. You can argue all you want--- I'm done. Because this is not a site for drama.

While it may come across to you as rudeness when someone says that ProgressiveU isn't the place for such posts... they are actually correct and there is a reason for that. Our editorial policy says:

Contributions to ProgressiveU should encourage others to think, to speak up, and to reach out to others, while focusing on relevant progressive principals such as effective government, social justice, personal freedom, and broad prosperity. Articles should allow members to analyze the root causes of the problems or conflicts associated with those relevant principals and stimulate discussion of solutions. In addition, contributions must be interesting and original. They should encourage debate, have social or political value, and be sincere.

We expect a lot of our users because this isn't your typical blogging spot and it wouldn't be ProgressiveU if it were. The vast majority of our users are here simply because it is a different environment. They can blog about the things that aren't typically even mentioned on Myspace... and that's what we expect. A blog every once in a while about a personal issue is fine when that issue has affected you in some way... but it shouldn't be one blog after another because that isn't what ProU is for... and those posts don't fit within the contest guidelines. If you wouldn't send a gripe about MySpace drama to another scholarship contest... it probably doesn't fit this contest either. Users get frustrated and they will say something to you about it because it isn't fair that they play by the rules while others break the rules and expect the same rewards. It's not because they think your blog sucks or don't appreciate the progressive contributions... it's simply because the non progressive contributions aren't playing by the rules, aren't taking into consideration the mission of ProgressiveU, and often add very little to the discussion.

Aren't we all supposed to write about progresing stuff? At first your blogs were not what most people would think of as "progressive material" because the way you wrote them were like you were talking to one of your best friends. Me and others understood what you were still trying to say. So you asked for help on improving your blogs so people will read them and understand you better. After that, your blogs improved greatly. But I always thought that being progressive was like a person who is not great in the beggining , but then they slowly start to progress into a better blogger. I can remember when I was first on here, I had no clue what to write about. I probably wrote about corny stuff, but as I stayed on the site even longer, my blogs slowly started to improve.

I understand where you are coming from. Sometimes I use blogs to describe the feelings that I can't say about certain issues and it really helps. Posting helps me emotionally get over certain topics and I think it is a great thing. Do not listen to other peoples opinions only yours matters. Just follow your heart and do your best and thats all you can do.

I'm with Fallon and BurningExample on this one. There are plenty of places for you to post about your emotions, but if you cannot put them in a progressive context (read: in a way that enables SOCIETY to progress), then they don't belong here. I'm sorry if you feel otherwise, but we do reserve the right to remove any content we do not feel meets the requirements of the site, and we have done it before. Just because we don't like to doesn't mean we won't.

I am all for progress and I understand your need to write it out esspecially here, where the people are so much smarter and more likely to say the right thing. Or confront you on falacies. So when I took a break just now I had an idea.

I was thinking you could make a life series with warning in the title and/or first part of intro to save us from actually having to partake if we do not want to. Your progressive minded articles could be like normal or another part of a series type things. I had originally like what you wrote...if you could get back to those thoughts too that would be awesome.

I will give an example post. I was writting a blog trying to be silly and it ended up being stupid. I was not going to finish it and post it but I guess I just might so you could see me being stupid and how I warn others of ProU to stay away.

By some of these comments, but okay I see not all of my blogs are all prgressive and not everyone thinks they have points, but i tried to go back and change them so that they seem more progressive. But guess what??? It wont let me.

But I feel stupid for acting so immature. And i apologize: Im sorry.
