Myspace.com is loved and hated throught the world. It is one of the largest online communities with participants ranging in age from those just learning to type, to those who can hardly see anymore. It is used to keep in touch with family and friends, to make new friends around the world, to find old friends, to learn about your community, and to keep up with your favorite musicians, comedians and actors.
Yes, it may be used by child rapists and other criminals. Yes, young girls are claiming to be much older than they truly are and taking off most of their clothes for photos. The parents should be watching their children, and teaching better, stronger principles and morals. There are options for one's personal page that will help keep out unwanted visitors.
Through all the bad, there is alot of wonderful opportunities on Myspace.com. Personally, I have discovered alot more about myself, through blogging and meeting new people. I have been more involved in my community, and have been able to keep up with friends, even though we have been spread all over the country since high school.
Since the internet was opened to the public, young children have been taken advantage of. This has been through AOL and AIM, chatrooms and message boards. Myspace isn't any differant.
