Selling our soul

Hillary Clinton, whom I kind of held some semblance of respect, recently just trashed that lint-sized tad. The GAS TAX. She is willing to support an economic policy she does not want to succeed (because it is ungodly stupid) because she believes the residents of Indiana and North Carolina to be uneducated enough to buy into a bullshit facade. The gas tax suspension would cost the US government 9 billion dollars, save the average american at most $28, and dissuade energy companies from investing in research and development of renewables and cleaner energies.

To give you an idea of the degreee of stupidity, independent New York Mayor, Michael Bloomberg (also a very successful economist/businessman) said of the ploy "It's about the dumbest thing I've heard in an awful long time, from an economic point of view."

A removal of the gas tax would promote fuel consumption, reduce pressure for higher fuel economy standards, and do diddly shit anybody except Hillary clinton in North Carolina and Indiana. Coming from the social order of irrelevant-middle-class-intellectuals, I can only hope that our brethren are not so easily tricked.

American leaders are not supposed to be rewarded for beeing sycophants and opportunists.
