Introduction

I think I should begin this blog by introducing myself. My name is Jennifer Eldridge, I’m going into my third year of school. I’m going to major in accounting and finance, but before I begin my career I want to spend at least a year in china teaching English, and when I return, I plan to spend about a year or two in the corporate world before returning to law school, and doing bookkeeping part time.

The combination of accounting and finance, along with law, I believe will make me money, it will allow me to work in a corporate environment, and to be in a position where I will make the decisions which will positively affect the world.

I’ve been told that I’m naive, and one of my main goals is to maintain that. I really couldn’t care less about money, which is one of my min challenges as a college student. I worry that no job will make me as happy as when I’m digging post holes, or be as exciting as having a one on one conversation with a particularly bright or talented child, and that I will end up one hundred thousand dollars in debt, and teaching art class to a group of pre-schoolers.

Most of these blogs will be entries into scholarship contests, some will be essays written for my composition or sociology class, some may be graphics I’m designing for my independent graphic design work, and some will be essays, book reports, songs, or poems that I just do for fun. I hope you enjoy all of them. I greatly appreciate constructive criticism, debate, compliments and comments, and links to other information I may have missed or is related to the topic I’m posting on.

A little blogging tip that you will find quite useful: Space out your paragraphs and it will be easier on the eyes of your readers. Especially on the web, it's hard to keep track of where you're reading when you're plowing through a huge hunk of text.

And with that, I wish you luck in the competition!

Adjustments have been made to the opening post. Thank you for the advice Oh please Oh please Oh please...
