Blame hip hop?

Alot of people like to blame hiphop for the violence that takes place in the young African American society. I am caught in between as far as if I disagree or agree. I say this because i don't want to be a trator to my race, but at the same time the truth hurts. Its hard to defend rap or hip hop. But I think we can't let it be held responsible for people's actions....Can we just say that hip hop doesn't help the situaction?

I try to say that it is the parents fault. I think this because if the parents told their children the difference between entertainment and what it real, then maybe in the future we cannot blame rap or hip hop, but only blame our selves.

Then again it is hip hop's fault for implying that it is okay to call a girl a bitch, or its okay to steal and sell drugs, that its cool to shoot someone or to be shot. Rap suggests to young people that living in the ghetto is fun. =/

I'm confused.

Does Hip Hop have a bad influence on us? Is it our fault to let such entertainment have such a tole on us that we live our lives according to some damn MUSIC? How could we be so blind to reality that we let what we see on TV and hear on the radio mold our characters instead of good solid morals?
