What is your feeling on Cardiovascular exercise. Do you have any suggestions for fun cardio exercise? One of the best ways to stay fit and maintain a healthy weight is by including cardiovascular exercise in your lifestyle. It not only is good for your heart and body but is a great stress reliever. Cardiovascular exercise is defined as a physical activity of sustained-duration, moderate-to-somewhat-hard-intensity exercise that uses oxygen to fuel energy production. This type of exercise strengthens the heart and blood vessels, which make up the cardiovascular system.Intensity
For an exercise to be cardiovascular you need to increase your heart rate – working the heart sufficiently to result in it becoming stronger to meet the physical challenge of exercise. Your heart muscle is similar to other muscles in your body. It gets stronger with work.
Duration-In order to get the best cardiovascular benefit, a range of 20 to 60 minutes of continuous or intermittent (minimum of 10-minute bouts several times a day) of cardiovascular exercise is suggested.
Mode-The greatest amount of benefit is derived from exercise that uses large muscle groups and is rhythmic in nature. If you have been sedentary or are overweight, you should start with lower-impact and skill-level activities such as swimming, walking or stationery cycling.
Frequency-The optimal frequency of exercise bouts is three to five times each week. The more you make exercise a part of your daily routine, the better chance you have of success.

Now I have to log off here and go to the gym. Thanks a lot. *grumbles about how good it is for me*

I should do the same.
Great response.
Thanks!
About a year ago I bought this thing called Turbo Jam. It is a great cardio work out. It incorporates dancing and boxing and capoera. It is really fun and a great work out. It has great music that you can get lost in. It is just a good fun work out. But guess what one of my substitute teachers told me? Cardio is bad for your heart. I dont believe it. Like you said the heart is a muscle and it gets stronger the more it is worked. How could cardio be bad?
That is interesting this teacher would say cardio is bad for you. Maybe if it is a older out of shape person and they go full throttle in the beginning. I wonder what else she would of suggested to keep your heart healthy besides a good diet? I stopped working out for awhile and could feel the difference in being sluggish and getting tired easier. When I started doing my cardio again, I felt more energy and clearer. That's just me and I guess everybody is different. Thanks you for the comment.
What you felt is actually normal. A good cardio workout can increase metabolism when done consistently.
