I am currently a senior in high school and a few things have started to bother me about the school I am in.
1. Smokers
2. Students that have no respect for anything or anyone
3. DRAMA!
The smokers in my school are mainly the girls; guys chew but at least when you walk into the bathroom having to go you don’t have to stand there for 15 minutes waiting for the girls to get done passing a cigarette back in forth. And when you ask the girls to please hurry because there are people who are waiting for a stall and you get a rude remark back. I don’t support underage smoking I agree that it is bad for your health but when you bring your habit to school and endanger other students with your second hand smoke then you have crossed the line. I have talked too many school officials and they all say there isn’t anything that can be done. They say that they can’t just kick a stall open and catch them with a cigarette in there hand, but there should be a way to catch and stop this from happening.
Now my second topic for today; Students that just get by with anything they do in class. It frustrates me and I am sure other students that actually do there work and try to do good in school and other students who could care less just doing nothing and getting the same grade. At this moment I am in a freshmen class in which I am a teacher’s aid. These students are so rude and loud and could care less about how they act. I feel so bad for the teacher because she can’t do anything to keep these students in line. I wish there was teachers that would teach these kids some manners and respect. I wonder if these kids go home and treat there parents the same way. I guess this is a question I will never find out the answer to. I hope someday that they realize they are going to have to grow up and behave.
DRAMA! It’s the worst. The he said she said stuff that causes the stupidest fights over random things that don’t matter. I don’t understand it and when three friends are friends and then two of them start to fight it leaves the other person out, it’s dumb and I don’t understand it. Although I am sure that I have done this in past years but I don’t understand it and girls that want to get married to someone after two weeks of being with that person. I know that there are some adults that do this but they don’t know what its like to be married or to make the commitment to be with one person for the rest of there life. I don’t see how a freshman in high school can decide that.
But after all these topics I have to understand that this is high school and it happens but I wish there was something to be done about it.

I have been homeschooled since the 2nd grade, so I really have never been introduced to the lovely yet dangerous world of highschool! Many of my friends are in public school so I hear from them how terrible it can get. there's probably not a lot that can be done about the students behavior, most cases they develop the behavior from home, until parents start getting involved in the lives of their kids, we wont see much of a change.
And I agree with what you are saying.
Smoking is a big problem in my school. Except many of the smokers aren't smoking cigarettes. It is not uncommon to have many of my peers leave at lunch to go some a joint and then come back to their afternoon classes stoned. The teachers can't do anything because they didn't see them smoking and the only proof they have is the smell and the students' strange behavior.
I completely agree with the lack of respect that many students have for their teachers. I have an English class this semester that is currently being taught by a student teacher. Whenever he tries to teach many students tune him out, others talk to their friends, and a select few will even make jokes about how bad of a teacher he is to the entire class. I'm ashamed of the way that many of my peers act.
I hear about drama all the time, but since I'm a guy, I don't really have any myself. It's usually girls in my school that have all the drama.
