People have different drives that impel them to do what they do. It’s like gasoline to a car. More often than not, people prefer to do things that bring gratification to them in some way.
For myself, I love to write, in this case, type. I love the idea of construing a sentence together, it entices me. There are numerous ways to word a sentence that have the same meaning. It correlates to a saying that I thought of myself, though I’m sure someone out there has already stumbled upon this saying, “There are more paths than one to a destination.” This saying can be placed in a broad perspective, it can relate to religion, life, and in my case, writing.
I love the word selection that I have to choose from. My goal normally is to try and paint a vivid picture through the use of words, whether I'm speaking or writing. Many words may have the same meaning but also at the same time there typically is a minor detail that makes the picture all the more clearer. I have even created a Word of the Week (WOTW) for myself where I will look up a word in the dictionary and write it down along with its definition. The purpose for it is to widen my vocabulary.
Many times I have gone over things I have written for school and a lot of times I am awe struck at my “creation.” The thought that most often crosses my mind is, “I wrote that? That’s awesome.” Writing to me is a piece of my past. Everyone changes over time but if you write down your thoughts and or feelings down. In the future when you read over it, get ready for some wonderment.
